
UAE grown digital app-based laundry service, Washmen was internationally ranked amongst top 3 in the world by CINET (Comité International De L`Entretien du Textile), Washmen achieved first place in the UAE, first in all of Asia, and third place globally.
The global win comes just after 5 years of Washmen’s launch within which the company has extended its operations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi and also launched a 30,000 sq ft. state-of-the-art facility earlier this year. Washmen is known in the UAE for its innovative practices and technological advancements in the laundry Industry.
Washmen is now listed as the # 1 laundry brand in the UAE, the # 1 in Asia, and the #3 globally.

Washmen’s 2020 CINET awards submission included a 7,000 word document and video illustrating their development over the last 5 years. A member of the committee also got the chance to visit Washmens facilities here in the UAE. The judging committee consisted of 19 Judges with over 400 years of combined textile cleaning experience in over 10 different markets. This year was very competitive and included the world’s best laundries from the United States all the way to Japan, with participation from more than 40 countries.
In their very first year participating, Washmen managed to come in strong and rank third globally, closely behind 2 great laundries from the UK. 2 home grown companies from the UAE were nominated for the CINET awards, however Washmen won not only regionally, but globally. Washmen look forward to their 2021 participation and will set some stretch goals over the next couple of months.
The Global Best Practices Awards goal for this year's edition is to collect extraordinary professional laundry & dry cleaning showcases from 45 countries around the world! This year’s goal was to promote specific key issues of new technology and business models such as digitization, big data, logistics, new textiles, new customer segments, and more.
Washmen’s Future goals
In addition to their commitment to the highest quality standards in textile care, their primary focus over the next few months is to invest in improving sustainability.
- Installing solar panels to power our facility and save 25% energy
- In addition to OptiClean process, that uses biodegradable cleaning agents and low energy, we will be investing in other alternatives dry cleaning alternatives
- Introducing Ozone cleaning that clean effectively with minimal water, chemicals and energy
- Minimizing use of single use plastics
- Building more awareness towards our Home Recycling Program in the UAE
- Evaluating waste water recycling, which could save up to 50% of our water consumption
- Evaluating micro plastic filtration systems
