The Good

Vinyl floors have, over the years, become a very popular flooring choice in commercial facilities. And, why not? After all, this flooring material is durable, affordable, and easy to install. Moreover, it has a fantastic ability to resist moisture and still gives the effect of luxurious, yet, rustic materials. In fact, it is ideal for heavy foot traffic and even reduces noise and fall impact to a certain extent. No wonder then, that it is part of the ‘Resilient’ flooring system.

The Bad

Typically, only a thin layer of protective coating is applied at point of manufacture and needs frequent stripping and application of a thin layer of a protection. This protection layer is not normally produced by the manufacturer of the vinyl flooring but by third party manufacturers, which can result in incompatibility issues. The Ugly

Over time, the vinyl flooring begins to look quite ugly as the protective coating wears away and buildup of protective layers dull, and the vinyl floor itself becomes discolored.
