
During the period between 2023 and 2024, several transition stages took place in our property. It all started with the change in leadership in terms of welcoming a new Hotel Manager and later on a new General Manager. With changes as such, the vision is always altered and it is our job as leaders to redirect the team towards the new objectives. This alone is considered an achievement for me.
Another change that is worth mentioning, is the change in business trends where we have begun welcoming leisure guests after the end of the FIFA World Cup period. This has altered our ways of doing business operationally.
The highlight of the 2023-2024 period consists of our people strategies. We have taken a different approach to dealing with our people. We have developed training plans to ensure they are exposed to all the sections of the operation and that within the next period, those who have showcased potential would be ready for their next role. With all of these initiatives, I am proud to say that I was able to maintain the standards of InterContinental Hotels & Resorts with the least headcount possible resulting from a high level of satisfaction and motivation within my team and ultimately the lowest levels of turnover in the hotel.
The year 2024 is when we will certainly get the return on our investments and successful changes, as we are currently awaiting the results of the Forbes audit as InterContinental Doha Beach & Spa is expected to reach the Four-Star ranking.
