Introducing The Jury
 

Even when the idea of the Middle East Cleaning, Hygiene and Facilities Awards 2018 was in its fledgling stage, we knew that our jury had to be a solid, stable entity. As a result, we approached some of the top, albeit well-known, but also extremely knowledgeable and experienced industry personalities. 

The entire jury process of the Middle East Cleaning, Hygiene and Facilities Awards has been designed to be as unbiased and as neutral as possible. In order to ensure this, we also tied up with our Consulting Partner, Frost & Sullivan, to offer an objective perspective to the entire process.

HERE’S AN INTRODUCTION TO OUR ESTEEMED JURY MEMBERS:

Abhay Bhargava, Business Head Industrial Practice - MEA, Frost & Sullivan
Abhay heads the Energy & Environment practice in the MEA region for Frost & Sullivan, a global growth consulting company, assisting clients with ideating and strategizing growth. With over 15 years of global experience across the Energy, Power, ICT and Manufacturing industries, Abhay is a business expansion specialist, with proven global expertise predominantly across Middle East & India, and exposure across North America, Turkey and Kazakhstan.

 

 

Andrea Yoko - MBICSc, General Manager – Accomodation and Transport, Emrill Services

Andrea, who has recently been promoted as the General Manager of Emrill Services, was earlier the Head of the Centre of Excellence, Emrill Services. She has been working in the housekeeping and FM industry since the past 33 years and was with Intercontinental Properties before she joined Emrill Services in 2007 as the Soft Services Manager to manage the Centre of Excellence.

 

 

Ali Al Suwaidi, MEFMA Vice President and Global FM Board Member, and Vice President (FM) of Dubai Parks & Resorts.

Ali Al Suwaidi is one of the leaders of the facilities management and asset management industry in the Middle East. He has been in the industry since the nascent stages of professional FM solutions in the country and has been tasked with a range of prestigious, mission-critical, high profile assignments. He is one of the FM subject matter experts worldwide and a visionary speaker participating in facility management workshops across the world. Amongst many other important tasks, Ali was the first operation head for the tallest tower in world, Burj Khalifa.

 

Dr. Scott Richardson, Dean, Emirates Academy of Hospitality

Dr. Scott Richardson assumed the role of Dean, The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management, in November 2017. He was previously an Associate Professor at RMIT University in Singapore, and the Director of Academic Affairs and Head of School at the Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School in Australia. Dr. Richardson also has extensive tourism and hospitality industry experience having worked in the industry for more than 10 years. During this period Dr. Richardson worked in hotels, tourism and events companies and the travel industry. Franziska Purkert, Director of Housekeeping, Rotana Group

 

Franziska Purkert, Director of Housekeeping, Rotana

With close to 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Franziska is currently the Director of Housekeeping, Rotana Group. She has earlier worked in prestigious hotels like Ritz Carlton, One & Only Royal Mirage, Phoenician Resort amongst others.

 

 

 

 

Tommy Taylor, Director, MEATAC

Tommy Taylor is currently the Director of the Middle East Academy of Training and Consultancy. He is a UK-based consultant and conducts training programmes for the FM and cleaning sector. He ffers managed service solutions and delivers cleaning skills training and assessment including certifiable assessment through the British Institute of Cleaning Science Business Services scheme.
