Celebrating Industry Excellence

Recognising and rewarding the skills of cleaning operatives plays an important part within the professional community, celebrating success and inspiring improvements.

Accolades help highlight the expertise of individuals and organisations operating in the professional cleaning sector and applaud excellence.

Shining a spotlight on operatives working in the industry helps others aspire to achieve as well as boosts morale among the countless cleaning professionals whose work is vital across so many sectors.

Increasingly the integral role annual awards opportunities offer the industry is being recognised with many awards globally receiving thousands of nominations and entries.

Award presentation ceremonies, which are increasingly being staged again as live, in-person events, present businesses with the prospect to bring together their teams as well as offer important networking opportunities for everyone entering and attending.

Striving to help raise standards within the sector worldwide, through expert-led training and awards opportunities is industry-leading BICSc (the British Institute of Cleaning Science).

The Institute is driven by its main mission to educate, inform and train cleaning operatives to the highest standards.  Alongside recognising excellence through its own popular prestigious annual awards, which is one of the industry-leading events in the professional cleaning calendar.

mechf awardsBICSc team members were invited to attend the recent Middle East Cleaning, Hygiene & Facilities Awards where the Institute were sponsors of the Excellence in Training award.

Kelsey Louisa Hargreaves, LBICSc, Assistant Technical Specialist, said: “The awards ceremony was a fantastic night to attend, it really celebrated how successful, diverse, and innovative our industry is.

“The awards not only celebrated singular companies but celebrated the successes of individuals within the different roles throughout the cleaning world in the middle east.

“Every single day I am reminded just how important it is to celebrate each and every person in this vibrant industry and the awards did just that. It was an honour to attend and to see that BICSc Training and Services had helped to celebrate so many incredible people.”

Also attending the awards event was BICSc colleague Samantha Willson, MBICSc, Business and Development Manager, who added: “It was an honour to be invited, and to be given the opportunity to present an award at such an event was amazing.

“I was only one of two women that presented an award at the Middle East Cleaning Awards event, so this was a massive step for what has been known to be a male-dominated area. The event was well organised, and a great opportunity to network and enhance my profile within the UAE.”

Denise Hanson, FBICSc, Head of Technical Services said: “The importance of rewarding excellence within our industry cannot be underestimated. Awards are the ideal opportunity to recognise and reward cleaning operatives globally who are accomplishing such remarkable achievements within the professional cleaning community.

“As an organisation, BICSc is proud to lead the industry with our annual prestigious awards, highlighting how businesses and individuals are helping to raise and maintain standards of excellence in the sector. The Institute has been honouring industry excellence within the field of training and accreditation since its inception six decades ago.

“Year-on-year we continue to see exceptional levels of service delivery and inspiring innovation. Therefore, we believe it is vitally important to recognise and reward such exemplary excellence within the industry and shine a spotlight on those deserving outstanding organisations and individuals who continue to drive change and strive for innovation within the industry.
