Musanada and MEFMA host forum dedicated to facilities management professionals in the Middle East

Titled ‘Growth of Facilities Management in the Middle East,’ the event was held at Al Raha Beach Theater on October 17

Abu Dhabi General Services Company Musanada, worked in partnership with the Middle East Facilities Management Association (MEFMA) to provide an open and landmark event on October 17, which served as an educational and networking platform dedicated to all facilities management professionals, constituents and other construction industry stakeholders.

The forum which took place at the Abu Dhabi Culture and Heritage’s Al Raha Beach Theater served as a living example of facilities management at its best, as the facility is currently being fully serviced by Khidmah under a Total Facilities Management Contract awarded by Musanada. The forum saw presentations from Khidmah and other high-end facilities management professionals who provided insights on best practices in predictive and proactive maintenance. The attendees were able to view an array of services at Al Raha Beach Theater, ranging from MEP, civil maintenance, landscaping, security and pest control.

MEFMA was created in late 2009 as a result of the increasing need for a dedicated association to cater to the needs of an ever-growing sector in the Middle East. The non-profit association organizes essential programs, focus groups, seminars, conferences, educational courses that are instrumental in guiding facilities management into the 21st century.

Commenting on holding such a strategic event, Abdulla Al Dhaheri, facilities management director, at Musanada stated: “Musanada is partnering with MEFMA to hold such an event wanting to ensure that the services offered by the facilities management sector in the country are of world class standards and are able to assist the Abu Dhabi Government in achieving its Vision 2030 target.”

Musanada, having been entrusted with managing the delivery of some of the government’s biggest projects, including the AED 7 billion mega South Shamkha national housing development and for servicing around 3200 government buildings, is constantly seeking to award contractors who deliver cost effective services that excel in quality and safety. Through such interactive platforms Musanada and MEFMA seek to provide the ever- growing world of facilities management more insight on how to constantly improve the industry.

Musanada’s Building Services department is in charge of managing and overseeing the environmental and safety standards for over 750 government buildings across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including approximately 2050 mosques and 340 schools.
