The Food Control Department at Dubai Municipality in coordination with a group of food establishments recently observed the World Hand Washing Day 2011 with a range of activities aimed at confirming the importance of hand washing to attain food safety.
The Food Safety Awareness Team under the department supervised the organization of various competitions that were held to train food handlers on proper hand washing. These competitions highlighted the proper method of hand washing, ensuring that the hands of food handlers remain free from microbes and food residues.

The participants interacted remarkably well in the competitions and activities conducted by the department at different sites and institutions including some hotels and commercial centres.
The activities will continue after Eid holidays in Dubai Mall through its leading restaurant chains, Lulu Hyper market, Aswaq, Farm Fresh Group of companies and Emirates Food Supply.
