Khidmah LLC, the first Emiratiowned Services Management Company, recently announced its successful participationin Earth Hour 2011, for the second consecutive year. As a gesture to honour this year’s Earth hour, Khidmah mobilized staff throughout all its developments and turned off non-essential lights, on March 26th, from 8:30pm to 9:30pm.

Khidmah participated with almost all the properties it manages and carried out different activities in more  than 50 locations including mosques, government clients’ buildings, villa communities as well as residential and commercial towers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Earth Hour is a worldwide energy saving event, observed in March of each year, and it brings together millions of environmental friendly individuals, businesses and communities across the globe. “Events like Earth Hour remind us of our responsibility towards the nature and our planet. Khidmah is fully conscious about the climate change and support the initiative taken by WWF to reinforce global sustainability movement worldwide,” commented

Abdulla Al Qamzi, Khidmah’s managing director. this year Khidmah went beyond the expected and engaged youngsters and teenagers of Khidmah managed communities and organized Art Competitions and exhibition under the theme ‘How to save the environment’. This was aimed at emphasizing the need of bringing awareness to the new generation of the  society about climate change. It is vital to educate our younger generation about the environment. Once they are           conscious of their responsibilities, we will have many extra hands to protect our planet,” added Abdulla Al Qamzi
