These can make a major contribution to enhancing cleaning efficiency, management of resources and producing better outcomes.
For example, Tork Vision Cleaning from Essity uses people-counter sensors and dispensers with supply level monitoring to provide real-time data on cleaning requirements. The system allows facility teams to stay ahead of the game and anticipate situations in which enhanced cleaning or extra maintenance checks might be required.
Facility Managers are also able to monitor visitor traffic and check dispenser refill requirements remotely via a smartphone, or tablet. The data-driven system frees up valuable time that the cleaner would otherwise have spent on manually checking washrooms and public spaces. And it also enhances the user’s experience because it means washrooms are kept clean and well stocked at all times.
Tork Vision Cleaning has become hugely popular around the world and is now in use in airports, offices, shopping centres, amusement parks and other facilities globally.
One facility where the system was recently installed is a large mall in Dubai – one of the world’s largest and most successful shopping centres.
“Facility management teams at the mall are under constant pressure to maintain a spotless image, and this can be a major challenge”, says spokesperson from the mall. “Despite the fact that cleaners work hard around the clock to ensure that all floors and other surfaces remain pristine at all times, staff used to regularly receive complaints about hard-to-anticipate issues such as empty soap and paper dispensers in the washroom.“
“Everyone who visits the mall uses the washroom at least once,” says the spokesperson. “And untidiness has an immediate effect on everyone, while even the smallest imperfection can have a huge impact on our reputation.”
Since the facility adopted Tork Vision Cleaning it has noted a dramatic reduction in the number of complaints it has received regarding cleaning and washroom supply issues.
“We can now see when and which washrooms need attention and which don’t. This has had a real impact on efficiency because it frees up time for cleaners. And while they are already well trained and equipped, the support of real-time data now allows them to act with more confidence and precision which means their role is taken more seriously.”
Findings from Tork customers have indicated that Tork Vision Cleaning has helped them to ensure that dispensers are stocked 99 per cent of the time1. It has also allowed them to reduce dispenser checks by 91 per cent, saving hundreds of staff hours each year2. Customers using the system can also save up 20 per cent of cleaning hours3 and raise customer satisfaction levels by up to 30 per cent.4
“It’s a big relief to be able to act immediately when any issue arises and before it risks becoming a complaint. Once you begin working with the system you can’t imagine going back to working without it.”
