Tatjana Ahmed

Tatjana started her housekeeping career in the Middle East in 1989 before joining Hyatt Hotels situated in Dubai in 2001. Her extensive experience and passion for her work has made her a functional specialist in Housekeeping for Hyatt Hotels, carrying out Management Operation Reviews of the Rooms Division Departments and assisting sister hotels in the pre-opening phase, ensuring that Hyatt standards are being implemented throughout the housekeeping department. Within the hotel, Tatjana contributes as a member of the diversity and inclusion committee, the hotels sustainability committee and the Sahari Housing committee.

Tatjana is a strong believer of training and advocates a ‘Forever learning, forever achieving” culture. Through her, many of her team members have risen through the ranks and become Housekeeping Managers on their own, with some of them gone even further. With her team, she consistently maintains a guest satisfaction score of 99% for cleanliness of guest rooms in the hotel.

Her engagement outside the hotel highlights that she heads the UAE Professional Housekeepers Group as their chair lady and she is a member of the Asian Housekeepers Association. Tatjana is a part of the organising committee and judge of the Housekeepers League of Champions during The Hotel Show since 2017 as well as she moderates the Housekeepers conference during the Hotel Show. To always share her knowledge and insight, Tatjana has been writing a monthly column for the Clean Middle East Magazine since 2015.

Tatjana has been invited as a guest speaker by the UK Housekeepers Association twice and also assisted the Hotel Show South Africa with their first Housekeepers League of Champions. Her commitment towards the housekeeping fraternity has earned her to be Nr. 21 on the list of Top 25 Women in Hospitality ME in 2019 and Nr. 4 in 2020. She has also been awarded the Housekeeper of the year by the Hotelier Middle East Magazine in 2008, 2010 and again in 2019 and 2021.
