Your opinion about the soft FM Landscape today

Facility Management market is growing remarkably, especially Soft FM with thriving opportunities offered in the region especially in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia’s market for facility management services is on the path to eclipse $30 billion by 2025.

According to the Saudi Arabian Royal Commission of Riyadh City report, Saudi Arabia announced that it plans to host 7,000 new businesses. With the influx of businesses, the region is expected to see a boost in demand for Soft FM services.

The challenges in Soft FM

Lower daily wages and inconsistent compensation discourage the development of skilled workers across the region. The lack of skilled work force and cost of hiring is also another challenge the industry faces combined with government push to localization of the industry.

Lack of knowledge, commitment from senior management, time and financial constraints pose a challenge in implementation of sustainable facility management.

Your advice to young Soft FM Professionals

It is important for younger generations to consider SFM as a viable and fulfilling career option, especially at entry level. It is a great opportunity for the younger generations to come armed with questions to challenge how things are done, where they can be done better, driving positive action-focused conversations, and shaking up the industry for good.
