Why is sustainability important to you?
The company was born out of our firm conviction that sustainable use of our planet's resources is not only economically viable but also socially responsible. Our approach to sustainability is broadly divided into 3 specific areas – Environmental, Social and Economic reasons.
- Environmental impact: We collect the end-of-life linen from the various businesses and prevent them from going into a landfill. In a world with limited resources, the cotton we extract from this end of life linen reduces the rate at which we deplete resources and is a key input in our sustainable product - 360 weaveTM, which is a highquality bed linen. We partner with the luxury hospitality industry to use the 360 weaveTM to repurpose those fibers into reusable products creating circularity.
- Social impact: We actively engage with the businesses and local community by fulfilling their needs and provide resources and generate employment This helps create a net zero community that is thriving through a responsible use of shared and scarce resources.
- Economic impact: Our business model creates a circular economy through a 3-pronged approach of recycle-reuse-reduce. By embracing a circular economy, businesses reduce waste and become more energy efficient. Through innovative products and processes, we reduce our carbon footprint, develop green businesses, creating a community that is future compatible and resilient and self-sustainable. As a company that was born sustainable, these 3 factors form the founding pillars of our organization.
What is your most sustainable product and what are its features?
As sustainability is at the heart of our organization, it is woven around our products and services. Our core service is our recycling initiative where we partner with the hospitality industry to collect end of life linen and extract the fibers. These fibers as an input into our manufacturing process where we mix recycled fibers with virgin cotton and reinforce with Tencel fibers to produce a high quality bed linen branded 360 weaveTM. This sustainable bed linen comes packed with unique features:
- 2x Higher moisture retention compared to 5-6% for regular cotton
- Improved guest comfort and sleep quality from better temperature regulation.
- Better hygiene through fabric that is more breathable and antimicrobial
- Shorter wash cycles leads to reduced use of water, saving about 20 litres per load with substantial savings in energy costs
This translates to a climate impact on multiple fronts – businesses, consumers and environment alike.
