Functioning during the pandemic
Despite the pandemic, Cleanco has been able to retain all contracts and add new clients to their portfolio. They have embraced the pandemic as an opportunity to grow the business by promoting innovative disinfection services and providing disinfection solutions in accordance with the health authorities - providing the best and most cost-effective results to clients by not cutting corners, but by delivering the services that they require.
Learning and adapting quickly to the new market requirements needed expertise and fast decision making. During the pandemic, while some projects reduced manpower, Cleanco diverted their work force to the healthcare sector to serve as a backbone to keep the environment safe as they increased the disinfection frequency for the general surroundings and high touch points within screening and vaccination facilities.
Cleanco is affiliated with BICSc, CMI/ISSA, CIA, ISO, IPAF, PASMA and many more certifications required to execute its services while executing the tasks. The company has more than 16 dedicated assessors to access and identify the project/client needs, design a tailor-fitted training program, train and evaluate the staff assigned to each project. The excellence training center is closely monitored on a frequent basis by the top management to ensure that the training level is exceeding industry cleaning standards. Cleanco takes pride in its provision of transparent and reliable information to its stakeholders. It values all its employees and clients’ personnel, and has assured their safety comes first.
Servicing the healthcare sector
Cleanco is a pioneer of cleaning and support services in the healthcare sector in the UAE since the late 1980s. Their strategy has been to extend their healthcare services across all emirates. Cleanco has also initiated a certification program with incentives as well as provided meal coupons from hospital cafeterias and distributed boxes of chocolates to continuously motivate the front line heroes. Before the pandemic, they had hired registered nurses to overlook all healthcare sectors in terms of infection control and provide essential training to operators - such as hand hygiene, patient area cleaning and high touch points including patient room, N95 fit testing, donning and doffing, medical waste segregation including sharp objects, needle prick injury and body spillage management.
They also replaced all cleaning cloths to disposable ones, increased disinfection frequencies - especially after each patient - in triage areas, conducted disinfection every hour in waiting areas and disinfection of wheelchairs after each use. They worked in tandem with infection control departments to provide awareness sessions, training on positive or suspected COVID-19 patient room cleaning and waste management procedures as well as PPEs, N95 fit test, training on disinfection chemical usage and much more.
At the end of 2019, Cleanco completed the mobilization of its contract with Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), one of the UAE’s largest hospitals for serious and complex care and a joint-venture partnership between Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) and Mayo Clinic. Characterized by its advanced infrastructure, experienced and talented staff, and innovative health care technology, SSMC provides the community with an advanced health care system that delivers clinical excellence and a high-quality patient experience. SSMC is also the designated Trauma Center for Abu Dhabi and the only Burn Unit in the UAE. Cleanco assesses all its suppliers and international partners on a yearly basis to ensure that they receive the highest quality of products with continuous business support especially in short notice periods. Through its strong business relations, the company is able to mobilize any contract in a short period. Choosing the right partners and employees is the key to Cleanco's success.
