Nilfisk, Denmark-based producer of cleaning machines, is now part of manual cleaning systems specialist Freudenberg Home and Solutions following the completion of the takeover offer. 

"This marks an important milestone for Nilfisk," said Jon Sintorn, CEO of Nilfisk. "Through a structured process, we have found a strong new long-term owner in Freudenberg - a larger industrial group that brings the scale, stability and long-term perspective to support our continued development."

CEO of Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions Karin Overbeck added: "With the acquisition of Nilfisk, we are strengthening our position across both innovative manual systems and professional cleaning machines, creating a uniquely positioned provider to support our customers with more comprehensive solutions. The intention is to build on the respective strengths of each business."

The offer settled where the cash offer is paid to all Nilfisk shareholders - amounting to approximately 94 per cent of the share capital - that have accepted the offer. Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions has throughout the process stated that it intends to make a compulsory acquisition of the remaining shares and delist Nilfisk.

So Nilfisk will operate as a standalone brand under private ownership as part of Freudenberg Home and Cleaning Solutions.
