The Qualification and Building Studies Section in the Buildings Department of Dubai Municipality, in cooperation with Emerson Climate Technologies, organized a seminar on Air Conditioning Energy Standards on June 10, 2009 at the Municipality City Hall.
The seminar focused on the importance of energy standards for air conditioners in the context of the increased demand of energy and the focus of the regulatory bodies across the globe on energy conservation. Considering the Middle East climate, air conditioning applications in the region takes 65-70 percent of the electricity consumption in residential and commercial sectors. Considering the global energy standards for the air conditioning industry, the seminar aimed to make a proposal of energy standards for Dubai.
Principal speakers at the seminar were Pratap Chavan, vice president and managing director of Emerson Climate Technologies Middle East and Africa, Roberto Helena, technical manager, Middle East and Africa region and Uday Mahadeokar, marketing manager of Emerson Climate Technologies Middle East and Africa.
