Teupen Maschinenbau G.m.b.H, Gronau, Germany and Sahba Technology Group, Dubai, UAE recently signed a formal agreement, whereby Sahba Technology Company attains the authorization to market the “Spider” range of aerial access platforms manufactured by Teupen in Germany, exclusively in Iraq.

The Teupen ‘Spider’ machines are specialized aerial access platforms on rubber crawler based chassis, not wheels. They enable access to particularly difficult work applications which usually cannot be achieved by other types of access products. Teupen ‘Spiders’ have been developed over many years with many patented features. Such ‘Spider’ machines, so called because they are set up on four outrigger legs in the working position, can work outdoors on almost all types of terrain, but are increasingly being used indoors to work on sensitive flooring due to today’s architecture.Typical application outdoors are in parks, forests, cemeteries to cut branches / trees away from electrical cables, or to prevent them falling on people; working around the lower external facades of buildings; working in electrical sub-stations in restricted spaces.
Typical indoor applications are in shopping malls, hotels, airports and so on, often in high atria. Dr Sohayb Al Niaimi, vice president of Sahba Technology Group, feels that the Teupen products fits perfectly into their portfolio for the marketing activities in Iraq and the sound base already established will be fully exploited in the coming years.
