Clean Middle East spoke to Nohade Harfouche, House Keeping manager, Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi, about the measures and products being used for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards in the five-star hotel. Which hygiene/ cleaning product or equipment do you find most useful in your hotel?

I recommend Ecolab for their variety and effectiveness to our daily usage. It really helps us in ensuring quality results required in a five-star environment where we are committed to offer the best in cleanliness and hygiene to our guests as well as associates. We have a corporate contract with Ecolab for all cleaning chemicals. They have a remarkable range of innovative and sustainable (eco-friendly) solutions which help us achieve cleaner, healthier and safer surroundings in the most cost-effective manner.

Based on your experience with the product, why would you recommend it?

I particularly like Oasis Pro 63. It is very efficient for our daily cleaning and sanitizing operations. We have found that it’s harmless on our expensive floor, walls, furnishings and other interiors as well as associates. The product is designed to effectively kill germs and fungi. Oasis Pro 63 is safe on all water resistant surfaces and also on acid-sensitive surfaces. In addition to the disinfectant properties, Oasis Pro 63 is also a light duty cleaner.

As a house-keeping manager, what challenges do you face regarding the maintenance of cleanliness in a hotel?

It can get very challenging if you do not have a trained team executing the cleaning process in the correct schedule with the right products.

Which is the toughest cleaning task to execute?

At Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi, we do intensive trainings on cleaning process, material types/usage schedule with the required health and safety practice while they perform their tasks. If these are followed, then no task can get tougher.

Oasis Pro 63 is a light alkaline bathroom cleaner and disinfectant. It is designed to effectively kill germs within five minutes and fungi within 15 minutes. Oasis pro 63 is safe on all water resistant surfaces and also acid-sensitive surfaces.
