The Dulevo street sweepers were delivered to Muscat Municipality by Al Bariq Equipment’s CEO, Erik Franzen and Nikson Mathew, the division manager for the Environmental Equipment division. On the other hand, receiving the machines were representatives from the municipality who included directors from the Department of Health Affairs, Transport and Workshop. Pierro Sacco the service manager from Dulevo in Italy also graced the event and thanked the Muscat Municipality officials for putting their trust in Dulevo.

The official delivery ceremony was followed by a demonstration to the officials and training for operators, as according to one of the municipality officials, these sweeping units are expected to be deployed for city and street sweeping very soon.

During the delivery, Nikson Mathew explained why the Dulevo mechanical suction sweepers are an ideal solution for Oman’s environment, citing their low maintenance requirements, high sweeping capability, low energy use and low emissions. These sweepers, according to Nikson, are ideal for sweeping municipal roads, airport runways, internal roads, construction sites, industries, etc.

The waste collection of the Dulevo 5000 Veloce is carried out with a mechanical system by means of the side brushes that move debris towards the centre of the machine, where the main central cylindrical brush hurls the waste at top speed on the vertical conveyor.

The waste is loaded from the top in the waste container thus optimizing the machine’s loading capacity. The dust moved by the central cylindrical brush during mechanical waste collection is sucked and kept within the hopper through the vacuum depression created within the container by two high-power and high-pressure suction fans.

The special fabric filtering system blocks even the finest dust and completes the sweeping cycle by letting only perfectly clean air in the working environment. The machines’ special hydrostatic transmission technology and the two speed gear covers the full speed range from 0 to 70Km/h while driving comfortably. The unit’s braking system including service and emergency brakes is a cutting edge system with independent brakes on front axles and drum brakes on the rear axles equipped also with ABS. Al Bariq currently has its operation in Oman at Muscat, Barka, Nizwa, Sohar and Salalah.
