Dubai Municipailty has launched a new initiative aimed at increasing hygiene in the emirate’s restaurants.

DM Food Elite will recognise those establishments that go over and above to raise standards.

Submissions have now opened for the first edition of the program, which will recognise establishments in three distinct categories:

Independent dine-in restaurants
Restaurants in hotels
Fast-food outlets and cafeterias
The Municipality will recognise three venues in each category. after assessing them in five criteria:

- Nutritional Integrity
- Foodborne Illness Prevention
