Thiess Services Middle East awarded roads maintenance contract for Saadiyat Island

 

Thiess Services Middle East (TSME) has been awarded the contract for Roads Maintenance across Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi, by Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC).

Thiess Services Middle East awarded roads maintenance contract for Saadiyat Island
 

The contract covers a wide range of services on Saadiyat Island including the inspection and maintenance of the Sheikh Khalifa expressway and bridge; all secondary and temporary roads; roads drainage and street lighting; and secondary bridges.


The scope of work also includes the cleaning and sweeping of all carriageways together with the traffic management associated with repairs, maintenance, litter picking of verges, traffic incidents and planned diversions.

The contract was tendered on a competitive basis in accordance with the stringent procurement policies adopted by TDIC. With nearly 20 years of experience in road repair and construction in the UK and UAE, Mark Foley, Contract Manager for TSME stated “The concept of professional traffic management in particular is relatively new to the region and I am very proud to be associated with this prestigious contract.”
 
The award of this contract sees the range of services provided by TSME in the region grow even further to include: integrated Facilities Management; solid waste management; asset management and helpdesk; FM consultancy and design review; liquid waste management; infrastructure maintenance; resource recovery and recycling solutions; roads and bridge maintenance; transition management services including testing and witnessing; and land remediation.
